The Kamloops RCMP confirms that a human bone was discovered along the North Shore hiking trail over the weekend. On Saturday, March 26, at around 5:20 p.m., Kamloops RCMP front-line officers patrolled a runway near the airport, where a man walking his dog reported finding a bone. “Police have recruited an anthropologist from the BC Medical Examiner’s Office, who has confirmed that the bone was human,” said police officer Crystal Evelyn, a Kamloops RCMP spokesman. “The investigation into who owned the bone and the circumstances surrounding its discovery is ongoing and will be carried out in consultation with the BC Medical Examiner’s Office.” On Sunday, March 27, police searched the area but found no other significant evidence. Anyone with information about this survey or who may have encountered other bones in the area is kindly requested to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and at 2022-9726.
