The former president issued a lengthy statement on the shooting, which allegedly happened on Saturday, late Monday. Earlier, a federal judge said Trump may have committed atrocities in an attempt to reverse his election defeat by Joe Biden, and the Jan. 6 commission recommended criminal defamation charges against two aides, Dan Scavino and Peter. If the hole-in-one statement that followed was intended to change the debate, it was not Trump’s first such game. However, it was marginally less dramatic than his move last week, when a prosecutor who dropped out of a Trump business case investigation said he believed the former president had committed “many” crimes. Trump followed suit with a 108-page lawsuit alleging a massive conspiracy to delegitimize his presidency, led by Hillary Clinton. Trump said he scored his hole-in-one in third place 7 at Trump International in West Palm Beach. He said there was a “light breeze” and a “relatively strong breeze” as a five-pointer hit. The ball, he said, “bounced twice and then hit the hole.” A video accompanied the statement. He was showing Trump picking a ball from the hole, but not the shot he said he put there. Referring to Trump as the 45th president, Els wrote on Twitter: “Great shot on Saturday 45! “It’s fun to watch the ball roll for a hole-in-one.” It has been widely reported that Trump is cheating on golf. In 2019, golf author Rick Reilly published a book, Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump. Following is an interview with Reilly by Donald McRae:
