Police were called by ambulance to a home on Chipperfield Drive around 8:20 p.m. Friday (March 25). The seriously injured man was taken to the hospital but died in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday) and the woman was arrested. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of the man’s death. Officers say the man and woman knew each other and the man’s closest relatives have been informed and supported by specially trained liaison officers. Police will not name the body until it is officially identified. Senior Investigator DI Ben Lavender said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we have a team of officers and police working tirelessly to bring together the events that led to this horrific incident. The man’s family continues to be fully informed and supported by specially trained liaison officers and our thinking is very much with them. “There is still a police presence at the scene and reassurance patrols continue, so we encourage residents to talk to police with the local Neighborhood Police team if they have any questions or concerns.” If anyone has information that will help the investigation, call the police at 101 and give the caller the reference number 5222071378.
