On Friday, Bennett’s son and manager, Danny, confirmed that his father would not be attending the ceremony, but planned to cheer on Gaga from his New York home.

“It was decided that it would be right for Lady Gaga to appear alone to represent both of them,” explained Bennett, 68, his son.
He concluded: “There is no doubt that he will offer a flawless rendition of Love for Sale, which is Tony’s latest album. He will cheer her on as she watches from his home in New York. ”
The couple released Love for Sale on October 1, as a sequel to their 2014 Grammy Award-winning album Cheek to Cheek.

Bennett has been living with Alzheimer’s since 2016 before his family announced it on Twitter in February 2021.
