NASA plans to send a woman and a colored person to the Moon by 2025 as part of the Artemis program and plans to send a mission next month with life-size virtual trunks and mannequins to measure the levels of radiation that astronauts may have to face during the mission. In preparation for this mission, NASA has scheduled a general rehearsal for the 39B launch pad between April 1 and 5, which will include feeding the giant rocket with liquid fuel.

Lightning

On April 2, NASA confirmed that three small thunderbolts struck the launch site. Lightning bolts made in parallel with the length of the missiles essentially for this purpose received the blows from the low-intensity blows. A fourth, more intense blow struck the tower when the central stage of the Orion rocket and spacecraft on which the crew was to travel was activated. After reviewing the data, the NASA team decided to continue the tests and spend a few extra hours to make up for lost time due to bad weather. However, many other obstacles hit the rehearsal, the space agency confirmed in the following days.

Issues that influenced the rehearsal of Artemis’ wet wedding dress

On April 3, two fans pushing the mobile launcher and holding the dangerous gases out failed, preventing technicians from loading the liquid propellants into the nucleus and in the intermediate stages of rocket propulsion, NASA said in another blog post. After resolving the fan problem, a valve problem in the ground equipment stopped the refueling effort, NASA wrote in a tweet. Due to the vent valve problem, the launch manager discontinued the test for the day. The team is getting ready to get rid of the LOX and will start discussing how fast the vehicle can turn for the next attempt. Great learning and progress today.-JP – NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems (@NASAGroundSys) April 4, 2022 This was NASA’s second attempt to power the rocket stages. Although the team was able to complete the refueling effort, it managed to develop a new process for loading the liquid oxygen and filled it up to 50 percent before the effort had to be canceled. It is unclear whether the space agency will make a third attempt to refuel the rocket on Tuesday again. The wet-dress rehearsal has already launched a private launch mission to the International Space Station, Space.com reported.
