Traffic was stopped between junction two in both directions between junction six and junction five shortly before 8 a.m. this morning (March 27). The National Road confirmed that this was due to a police incident. The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. Emergency services, including Lancashire Police, are on site. Police officers of the National Highway are also on the spot and help in the management of the traffic. If this closure affects your trip, allow extra travel time.
