A man was arrested and charged on Saturday following an attempted abduction of a woman in Nanaimo on Thursday.

The woman told police she was walking along Dickinson Street after getting off a bus when she noticed a vehicle making strange turns on March 24 at about 7 p.m. Seconds later, the vehicle approached and an unknown man got off and asked for directions. While looking for them on her phone, the man hit her on the head with a blunt object. The woman fought and then ran to the nearest house, whose occupants call 911. The suspect followed her on foot for a short distance, then returned to his vehicle and drove north to Dickinson Crossing. Bradley Dylan Boscariol was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and attempted kidnapping. Boscariol is currently in police custody and will be remanded in custody until Monday.
