Emergency services were called at 9:56 a.m. Saturday to an address on Landseer Avenue, Manor Park, Newham, following a report by a woman in her 80s with stab wounds. Her death was confirmed at the scene. A 30-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken into custody following a police search in the surrounding area. Police believe that the detainee and the victim knew each other. The Metropolitan Police stated that the woman’s family was informed and an autopsy will be performed soon. Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing. The investigation into Met’s murder is being led by detectives from the homicide unit of the Special Crimes Administration. Police are calling for witnesses or anyone with information that might help the investigation call 101.
