Police were called to the Superstar Boudoir nightclub on Stanley Street around 2 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, following reports of an attack. At the scene, the police found that the victim had been seriously injured and was extremely upset. The victim believes the incident was homophobic and police are treating the attack as a hate crime. After the attack, eyewitnesses claimed to have seen the suspect leave the scene on foot. Detective Inspector Steven O’Neill said: “It is absolutely disgusting to be attacked in this way and we are determined to find the perpetrator. “We will not stand by and let people be attacked for what they are and we are determined to remove homophobia and transphobia from our communities. Everyone should be free to go out and have fun safely in the city center. Liverpool and beyond, and we will do everything we can to keep our streets free of violence and abuse. “I invite anyone who recognizes the man who appears in these images to show up. We believe that it could provide vital information for our ongoing research.
