Police were called to the home at 22600-block on 97 Avenue around 2.30pm, where they found 48-year-old Christopher Raymond Hartl suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital. On Saturday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) released photos of Hartl in an effort to find additional witnesses. At the time of the shooting, the Surrey RCMP said two suspects had been arrested after fleeing the scene on bicycles.
