Police were called to St Julian’s Crescent, near the English Bridge in Shrewsbury, around 12:55 a.m. after police received reports of a man on the river. He was rescued and taken to hospital where his condition is critical. Police are now trying to unite the man’s movements before he is found. He is thought to have been at The Nag’s Head in Wyle Cop on Sunday night and had been involved in an altercation shortly before leaving the facility around midnight. West Mercia police are asking anyone in the pub between 9:50 p.m. on Sunday and 12.15 p.m. on Monday or in the area at the time of the incident to contact anyone who may have closed circuit television or video from the dashboard. Emergency services were called to Victoria Quay on Friday night, where they found 31-year-old Toby Jones. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died. In a tribute, Shane Gayme’s mother said he was “my beautiful boy” and had a “beautiful smile”. “So many loved him,” he added. “I know how he loved life and how many people loved him too.
