Several homes had to be evacuated as emergency services went to Brownley Road in Wythenshawe south of the city on Thursday afternoon. The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called in to report a fire in a home. Several properties were left without electricity and roads had to be closed, the Greater Manchester police announced. The force confirmed that a man was found dead inside a property.
