Emergency services were called to Smallridge Close in Pensby around 4am this morning (Sunday) following reports that a body had been found.  A man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Two women, both 20 and from Heswall. a 25-year-old man from Eastham. a 23-year-old man from Pensby. and a 30-year-old man from Thingwall were arrested on suspicion of murder. The three men and the two women were appointed to be interrogated by detectives. The woman said: “I heard a commotion in the early morning hours.” The woman’s companion said: “The police knocked on the door and told us that an incident had taken place. The undertakers came out later in the day to remove the body.” The neighbor said he knew the man who lived at the address. He said: “Yes, we knew him to greet him. But it is not yet clear who died. I can say that there have been no problems or incidents at home in the past. “The man who lived there was just a normal man. I think he was a bar worker.” The neighbor also said that there was a second man, believed to be a tenant, who lived in the same house. The scene at Smallridge Close in Pensby, Wirral (Image: echo) Another neighbor said: “I did not hear anything until an ambulance arrived indoors in the early hours of the morning.” This afternoon, police set up a forensic tent at the back of a detached house in Smallridge Close. The police had left all the windows and the front door open and had put a fence in front of the house. Earlier in the day, police confirmed that they had launched an investigation into the death, saying police were trying to alert the man’s closest relatives. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Chief Inspector Simon Owen said: “We are in the extremely early stages of this investigation and our officers are working to determine what exactly happened in the early hours of this morning. any information to come. “If you were in the Pensby area this morning and saw anything or anyone suspicious, then please contact us.
