Those who knew the 40-year-old from Bethnal Green in east London said she was “a wonderful person” and had lived in the area for a long time. She was pronounced dead at the scene after being stabbed at an address on Globe Road when she failed to pick up her children from school on Thursday afternoon. Neighbors said police broke down the property door after sounding the alarm shortly after 4 p.m. On Saturday, police remained at the estate where the woman was located. Mohammad Shamin, 57, a local businessman, said he often saw her walking in the area with her sons and described her as a good mother. “So it was very strange when he was not there to get them, that was what caused the commotion,” he told the PA news agency. “And when they found her, she was very sad. “People here are shocked, such a wonderful person.” Another neighbor, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the consequences were “chaotic”. “People came to check and see what was happening. The police came and went in, they broke down the door. It’s very sad, I did not know her well, but it seemed nice to me. “ Others said he had lived in the area for many years and had two young boys of primary school age. “She has lived here for a long time, we saw her again and again with her two young boys,” said a couple who live nearby. “They went out and it was nice to have them in the community.” The London Ambulance Service said the woman, who has not yet been officially identified, was dead at the scene. An autopsy-necropsy was to be performed on Saturday. Her relatives have been informed. DCI Laurence Smith, who is leading the Met police investigation, said they were “heartbroken”. “A dedicated team of officers is working around the clock to find the culprit and my thoughts are with this woman’s family as they come to terms with their tragic loss,” he said. “It is heartbreaking that another woman was killed. “All women and girls have the right to feel safe, at any time, day or night, in public or at home, and we will do everything we can to find those responsible.”
