Since the pandemic started two years ago, the official list of symptoms has been quietly expanded and modified. Initially these were a high temperature, a new, persistent cough and a loss or change in the sense of smell or taste. Everything was introduced earlier in the health crisis and has remained ever since. Now, with infection rates still high but far fewer serious diseases, the list has been updated to reflect new variants of the virus, the Mirror reports. Breathing difficulty Feeling tired or exhausted A body that hurts A headache Sore throat A clogged or runny nose Loss of appetite Diarrhea Feeling unwell or sick

After listing the symptoms, the NHS website states: “The symptoms are very similar to those of other illnesses, such as the common cold and the flu.” Previously, when people had any of the “even mild” symptoms, they were advised to get tested as soon as possible. Now, government guidance says people are advised to stay home and avoid contact with other people if you have symptoms as well as a high temperature or if you do not feel well enough to go to work or do your normal activities.
