The full extent of the disaster in the city of Irpin is shown in the new video taken by a Ukrainian NGO and delivered to CNN. It comes after Ukrainian forces pushed Russian troops out of the city in the northwestern suburbs of Kiev for the past 36 hours. Some context: CNN geographically identified the authenticity of the video taken by the Ukrainian Witness Project, which chronicles the war in Ukraine. This is one of the first videos in weeks from the eastern part of Irpin, as heavy fighting there has made it impossible to secure access. On Monday, the mayor of Irpin said that Ukrainian troops had recaptured the area from Russian forces. A Wasteland: The video, shot on Tuesday, shows the wooded suburb that looks like a revealing desert. The wind blowing through the remaining trees and the ringing of sheet metal against the metal is the only thing heard in the video, other than the dim explosion of a military blow in the background. Ongoing bombing: Russia claims it will reduce military activity near Kyiv, but CNN has seen no sign of it happening yet, as military raids continued Tuesday afternoon around the Ukrainian capital. The video shows that while shootings, bombs and war may have left Irpin for the time being, so has most of city life. Corpses on the streets: Apart from the wreckage and destruction of buildings, the corpses of civilians are the only thing on the streets. A man in a leather jacket, who was apparently pulling a small cart when he was killed, looks face down on the ground. Another victim is seen on their backs in the back seat of a car with bullets. There are at least five corpses in the video. It is not clear how and when they died. The video shows them standing dead on the street, in a silence full of winds, between the charred buildings and the crushed trees. Watch: Graphic video showing widespread destruction in Irpin
