Off Duty Hcso Deputy Dies After Shootout With Suspects Attempting To Steal His Catalytic Converter From Grocery Store Parking Lot In N. Harris Co. Officials Say

Authorities say the shooting occurred in North Harris County at a grocery store at 2929 FM 1960 in Aldine Westfield. According to officials, the suspects were outside trying to steal the MP’s catalyst when the incident started. The MP tried to stop them before exchanging shots. Officials say the MP returned fire but was eventually hit by a bullet. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The whole incident took place in front of the eyes of the MP’s wife, who remained unharmed during the situation. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez is praying for the deputy’s family right now.
