The police are on the scene of a shot in the 300 square of Monticello Avenue after a call that came at 6:25 pm A man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other women were taken to Sentara General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Norfolk Boone Police Chief. Police initially said she was a woman who was pronounced dead, however, Chief Boone corrected the announcement at a press conference. Boone says the shooting came from a money dispute and believes the victim and the suspect are related.

A Dillard associate tells News 3 that they were told to lock up and go to the first level of their store. Many roads in the area are currently blocked as police conduct investigations.
