There are 157 ICU patients with COVID-related disease, but 38 of these individuals are no longer positive for COVID. Ontario Public Health also reports 3 new deaths last month. There are also 2,215 new COVID cases, although the number of new cases is underestimated as tests are limited. 1,638 recoveries and 3 deaths from yesterday’s report. Among the new cases confirmed today are 134 unvaccinated people, 21 partially vaccinated people and 437 fully vaccinated people. Laboratory-confirmed trials are mainly limited to indigenous peoples, inpatients, and those living or working in high-risk care settings. As a result, the majority of those tested are fully vaccinated in accordance with mandatory vaccination policies in the province or at work.
Hospitalization
553 people are positive for COVID-19. Of these, 47 percent were hospitalized for COVID-19 and the other 53 percent were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for COVID-19. There are 157 patients in Ontario ICUs with COVID. Of these, 76 percent were admitted because of COVID-19 and the other 24 percent were admitted for other reasons but were positive for COVID-19. There are 72 patients with COVID-19 in ventilators.
Ontario Public Health has confirmed 1,153,305 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began and reported 1,121,755 recovery and 12,401 deaths.
