Yes, it’s time again – the 2022 Oscars are finally here! The Oscars take place tonight (March 27), with films such as The Power of the Dog, West Side Story, Licorice Pizza and Coda vying in the big categories. This year ‘s show will be presented by not one, not two, but three presenters in the form of Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. It means a slight return to the normality of the Oscars since the pandemic secured a less stellar relationship in 2021, with no host to speak and fewer guests. This does not mean, however, that tonight’s ceremony was a toy. The show has already sparked controversy after it was announced that eight categories – many of them technical, as well as a handful of lifetime achievement awards – would be cut off from broadcast and not shown on television. Many in the industry are confused and upset by the traffic, so expect some tension tonight.
