The crash occurred along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County between exits 116 and 119, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. All lanes were then closed. At least 50 to 60 vehicles were involved in the wreck, which began just before 11 a.m., a Pennsylvania State police spokesman said. At least three people have been killed, according to County Medical Examiner Schuylkill. More than a dozen motorists were taken to local hospitals. Video of the collision shows several tractor-trailers and cars hitting each other in the middle of low visibility. Several vehicles were still burning at noon, as firefighters had to bring water tankers due to the remote location of the crowd. Snowfalls are associated with strong cold fronts and include sudden and heavy snowfalls. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency warned motorists Monday morning of the possibility of snowfall across the state, saying they could “zero in on your visibility in seconds.” Last month, an accumulation of 50 cars occurred on Interstate 81 about 30 miles north of Monday wreck. It was also caused by a snowstorm, WNEP reported at the time. Schuylkill County is located about two hours west of Philadelphia. The build-up was caused by low visibility during a blizzard.Mike Moye / FacebookAt least 50 to 60 cars were involved in the collision.Bo News BL State of Emergency in Schuylkill Resp
