Phil Collins, the band’s former drummer, was joined by keyboardist Tony Banks and guitarist Mike Rutherford. Collins, 71, who is increasingly weak with back and hip problems, has been in the spotlight all along. He had a good sense of humor, however, he is said to be joking at one point that he now has to find a real job after the band’s death. Genesis «The Last Domino; Tour »came after 14 years of cessation of live performances. It was also postponed during the pandemic. The band’s last tour included concerts in the United Kingdom last September and in North America last fall, concluding with another 14 concerts in Europe and the United Kingdom. The trio was accompanied on the tour by Collins’s son, Nic, who also complemented his father behind the kit during his recent solo tours. Longtime tour member Daryl Stuermer returned to guitar and bass, along with Daniel Pearce on second vocals and percussion and Patrick Smyth on second vocals and tambourine. The 23 songs of the last night were almost identical to the band’s recent tours in the UK and US. Genesis was first created in 1967 and became a major actor in the 1970s with Peter Gabriel, selling more than 100 million records. Collins became the band’s drummer and assistant singer in 1970 before becoming a singer in 1975 as Gabriel left or had a solo career. Contradictory reports indicated that Gabriel was in the audience for the last show. Genesis has released 15 studio albums in its long career.
