Russian forces continue to encircle the city, fighting blockade in an attempt to gain control, according to the Institute for War Studies. A United Nations case study in the Livoberezhnyi area at the eastern tip of Mariupol shows just how devastating the attack was in the residential area, as shown in the drone video above. The analysis compares a satellite image of the city taken on June 21, 2021 with March 14. At least 433 buildings in the study area were damaged or destroyed.
