Ping the cat is on its way to recovery after being bitten by a pair of dogs near Enderby. BC SPCA appeals to the public for help to help care for the orange tabby until it can be adopted. Ping was taken to the BC SPCA by a good Samaritan who saw two dogs shaking something and throwing it in the air as he drove on a rural road just outside Enterby. When the man realized it was a cat, he stopped and got out of his truck. The dogs threw the cat and fled. The rescuer managed to catch Ping, who was covered in shawls and blood, wrapped her in his leather jacket and brought her to the shelter. “When Ping arrived she was very cold, wet and scared,” said Victoria Olynik, director of Shuswap BC SPCA. “She was so scared that when we unrolled her from her leather jacket, she tried to run away from us, but her hind legs were not working, so we hurried to the vet.” Ping had multiple bruises, bruises and a pelvic fracture from the attack. “Once Ping returned to our care, it took us several days to find out how sweet she was,” Olynik said. “She is shy and will tremble if you move around her too fast, but she will roll over to rub her belly and scratch her chin and she likes to sleep in her bed with bubbles.” Under the care of BC SPCA, Ping has received vaccinations, deworming, pain control and antibiotics. She will be checked to see how her fracture has healed and may need further treatment. When she is ready, she will be sterilized and put up for adoption.
