The agency shared a dramatic photo of the crumpled aircraft next to the damaged outer wall of a property that Thames Valley Police (TVP) said was an empty apartment building near Camp Road. An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said one person was taken to hospital after the crash, whom TVP identified as the pilot. A spokesman said: “The plane crashed into an uninhabited apartment building near Camp Road in Upper Heyford around noon. “The pilot is in the hospital, but no one else was injured. “Anyone with material or information, call 101 at 857.” The Aviation Accident Investigation Department (AAIB) said an investigation had been launched and inspectors were investigating the scene. The branch said: “An accident in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire involving a light aircraft has been reported to AAIB.
