Police announce the arrest of a male suspect in the death of an elderly Kitsilano. “Vancouver police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Justus Daniel, the beloved caretaker of Tatlo Park, who was found murdered at his home on the west side last December,” the VPD said in a press release. Daniel was found dead on December 10, 2021, at his home near West 3rd Avenue and MacDonald Street. “After a painstaking examination of all the evidence, the investigators identified a 51-year-old suspect. “He was arrested without incident on Saturday afternoon and has since been charged with murder,” said Inspector Dale Weidman, a senior crime officer. The BC Prosecutor’s Office has indicted Brent Steven White in the case. He faces a second-degree murder charge and remains in custody. “This crime shocked the community and caused considerable stress, in part because we could not immediately explain what happened or guarantee that there was no threat to public safety,” Weidman added. “We hope that this arrest will begin to restore the sense of security that some have lost and that more answers will soon be given through the court process.”
