There is some sort of police incident going on in the Cherryville area Sunday afternoon, according to unconfirmed reports. Castanet has received reports that a large number of police and EMS members have rushed to the Meadows Campground below Sugar Lake Road for some sort of incident. Several people reported seeing a large number of Emergency Response Team vehicles, RCMP cruisers and an ambulance driving towards the North Okanagan along Highway 97 and then east along Highway 6 towards Cherryville. A Luby resident counted 13 police vehicles heading east through the small village on Sunday afternoon. There is no word yet on what prompted the police response.
