ATLANTA FALCONS @ NEW YORK JETS

Draft Falcons RB Damien Williams: Williams played the first four snaps and then his night was over before the rest of the players. He has a decent chance to lead the team in Week 1.

He split time with Qadree Ollison in the starting lineup last week, making it a clearer sign that he will have a big role in Atlanta’s offense. Cordarrelle Patterson played just one snap, similar to last week. He will still have an important role.

Move the Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier level up your fantasy: Algaier played with the first team, unlike last week. Fifth on the depth chart a week ago, he is now third and may see some time during the regular season.

He played most of Atlanta’s snaps in the first half, with both the first and second teams. 2021 fifth-round pick Avery Williams also played in the first quarter, moving him over Caleb Hadley on the depth chart. Qadree Ollison was the third running back on the field for Atlanta last week, but the fifth today, putting his spot on the contested roster.

Ignore the Jets crowds: The Jets rested their starters, so even though their first- and second-round rookies started the game, they may not start in Week 1. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson played with the starters last week, but were not part of of the starting line-up.

Both rookies played the first two drives and then walked away before the rest of the starting offense. Hall played two of the seven snaps with the starters last week while Michael Carter took the other seven. Hall played ahead of Tevin Coleman, confirming that he is second on the depth chart. Elijah Moore, Corey Davis and Braxton Berrios were all among the wide receivers who did not play. Wilson played just one of nine snaps with the starters last week, and those three receivers played the rest. Moore, Davis and Wilson play largely on the outside, which ensures Berrios’ role in the slot.

Table notes

Highlights include plays stopped due to penalties, including offensive holding or defensive pass interference. The other three stats have those games removed. Targets may differ from official NFL sources. The most likely deviation would be from a pure throw, where the NFL can give the target to the closest receiver, while this data does not. Transfers are only on planned projects. Quarterback tackles will not count towards the total number of carries in the game.
