He began by saying: “As I sit here in my office this cold, crystal clear spring morning and think about April 1982, I tried to think about what was going through my mind as we sailed from Portsmouth, covering the HMS AHT flight cabin. . “ He continued: “So, while I was thinking about a day when a young man went to war, full of audacity, I returned a changed man. “I left the childish things and the false courage and returned a man full of knowledge of human weakness and suffering. “My thoughts make me think even harder and pray even harder for those in conflict today, for those families that have been torn apart by the horror they have seen.
