Photo: file photo Prince George RCMP investigates after a drone flying low appeared to be spying on children in the backyard of their home, according to a statement issued by the police on Monday. Police received a report in March of a drone spotted flying in the backyard of a Nation Crescent 1400-square-foot home. Witnesses told police that in many cases, the drone flew over the backyard while small children were playing outside. When they saw adults, the drone flew away. In one case, the drone flew out of one of the children’s bedroom windows and hovered out of the window for a while. “This breach of privacy is very worrying, as whoever operated the drone did so in a residential neighborhood where young children were targeted,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in a statement issued Monday. “We encourage anyone who has experienced a similar situation, where a drone has flown near their home for observation, to call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak to police.” Anyone with information about this crime should call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
