Kyle Darren Eglington, 32, escaped from a truck carrying detainees to court in Poole after being attacked by security officers on Saturday morning, Dorset police said. The force said it was conducting “extensive investigations” to find Eglington and called on the public for information. He was reportedly wearing only underwear and socks when he left the van, police added. Eglington is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall and of medium build, with dark brown hair and a beard. He was remanded in custody after being charged with robbery in connection with an incident in Bournemouth on Thursday and appeared in Poole’s court the next day. Officers were searching the area with the help of a helicopter from the National Aviation Police and the British Transport Police. Police said members of the public who had seen a man “in his underwear and socks” or that matched the description should tell them. The force also sent a Twitter call for information. Dorset police officer Supt Heather Dixey said: . . “There is nothing at the moment to suggest that it poses a danger to the general public, however, we will urge people not to approach it and call 999 immediately.” Anyone else with information should call 101 with incident number 26: 244 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
