The organization announced on Thursday that it will host the Ontario Covid-19 Science Advisory Table on a permanent basis from April 4. The Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto had previously overseen the team of independent scientists who provided research and modeling for the disease in Ontario. Ontario Public Health says the team will continue to be composed of independent, impartial and volunteer experts and will be transparent about reports and conflicts of interest. He says the science board and Ontario Public Health will develop new terms of reference so that the team can be “sustainable over time” and can be scaled up if necessary in the event of future public health emergencies. Adalsteinn Brown, Dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and Ontario Vice President of Public Health, Dr. Brian Schwartz, will be co-chairs of the scientific panel.
