It has been almost a year since Prince Philip died tragically at the age of 99. Although his funeral took place last year, the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic meant that he could not be fully honored according to his final wishes. The entire royal family, including Queen and Prince Andrew, will attend the 45-minute ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at 11.30am this morning. The Queen has been “actively involved” in every detail of the plans for Westminster Abbey’s service, which will include flowers to pay their respects on their wedding day, honored guests from his hundreds of charities and the full-bodied sound of church song Guide me, oh, great Redeemer. Many of his funeral requests, which had been planned in advance, will finally be fulfilled, with the young people of the Edinburgh Duke Awards in the spotlight.
