Yesterday has been a tough day for Switch owners, with Nintendo announcing the delay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. On a more positive note, at least it gives Nintendo more time to make this expected release. even better.
The only problem we have now is that the Switch could be without a Zelda game for 2022. So what can Nintendo do about it? As usual, social media has been activated and there are calls for the company to bring Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to the hybrid platform.
Could you also transfer The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD in the meantime, right?
Hi Nintendo, if you still want to release a Zelda game this year, now is the time to bring Wind Waker to Switch… https://t.co/BkNfWKdACn
– Jonathon Dornbush (@jmdornbush) March 29, 2022 I’m looking forward to it. Plus, it has more room for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch * hint hint nudge nudge * Derrick Bitner (@Bitnerd_) March 29, 2022 I sneak out of the Nintendo jail cell to see if this Wind Waker port is ready for Switch now. pic.twitter.com/JgD8JJfQrL— Mike Minotti (@Tolkoto) March 29, 2022 The delay in Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 for Spring 2023 means one thing. – NintendoFanGirl 🎮 (@NintendoFanGirl) March 29, 2022 I really hope this means getting Wind Waker HD on the Switch this year. Let me fall into the ocean again <3 Zion Grassl (@ZionDood) March 29, 2022 I will not be shocked to see the Switch ports of the Wii U Zelda remasters announced this year, honestly. I have to imagine sitting in them for a while.
This is just speculation, to be clear.

As you may recall, there was a rumor that circulated early last year that Nintendo would bring both the Wind Waker and the Twilight Princess to the Switch. And after yesterday’s news, 2022 would now be a great opportunity to do that.
But what do you think? Should Nintendo fill the Zelda gap in 2022 with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Tell us below.
