A Kelowna RCMP officer was rushed to hospital early this morning after being stabbed in the line of duty. Shortly after the officer responded to a call on Block 1000 on Ellis Street around 12:18 a.m., they called for immediate help after being stabbed. Other police officers flooded the area and the suspect was found. Both the injured police officer and the suspect were taken to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment. Mountie suffered severe, non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries. “Our officers face dangers and difficult conditions every day in the service of this community. Tonight, I am grateful for the incredible work they have done in supporting each other and responding to this event. “Our thoughts remain with the officer and their family.” Said Insp. Adam MacIntosh Operations Officer, Kelowna RCMP. The Kelowna General Investigation Support Team is asking those witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come. They also ask anyone who may have a video of the incident to contact the Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300.
