Police were called to the scene in the Doon Village Road area between Homer Watson Avenue and Millwood Crescent around 8:30 p.m. Police say the occupants of one vehicle fired at another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as two black men in their 20s in dark clothes who fled the area in a dark blue truck. Police believe the incident was targeted. Anyone with information on the incident is kindly requested to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Department or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers. On Saturday morning, police closed part of Homer Watson Avenue above Hwy. 401 for research, but reopened the department around 10:30 a.m. Officials say the closure was not related to the shooting, but was in response to reports of a dead man. They add that death is not considered suspicious.
