Sometimes, RCMP responds to what is considered to be an emergency with a large presence. If the call justifies it, other services are called upon to support their efforts. Sometimes, this answer is not commensurate with what they eventually find. This happened on Sunday night, when the Kelowna RCMP, EHS and the fire department responded to a report of a corpse on Sutherland Avenue near Shady Rest Fish and Chips. “No body was found, but an old backpack and blanket were found,” Insp said. Adam MacIntosh during a news release on another topic Monday afternoon. While McIntosh called it a “fact of nothing”, he says police and other first responders will show up in numbers if the situation seems to require it. “Receive a call for a person who may have medical problems or death, we will respond appropriately with the right partners, such as an ambulance and fire department. “I’m glad this was not a fact.”
