Chris Sununu of New Hampshire made the remarks at Saturday’s Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, DC, an event renowned for its tradition of baking politics with satirical and often elegant comic speeches. But the sketch is unlikely to make Sununu dear to the infamous thorny former US president, who once sat “red-faced and bloated” under a similar barrage by Barack Obama at the 2011 White House correspondents’ dinner. Trump’s decision to run for president in 2016 was hailed by many as a desire to avenge Obama for the humiliation he endured. Sununu’s comments were part of a wide-ranging sense of humor addressed to Trump, which included a recollection of a limousine trip from a New Hampshire airport to a rally. Trump, according to Sununu, was partying in the presence of supporters waving flags along the way and proudly showed one. “I can only pay attention to the guy he showed, the sign he’s holding says, ‘Fuck Trump,’” Sununu joked with a loud applause. Trump did not attend Saturday’s dinner, and Sununu’s continued attack was brutal. “You know, he will probably be the next president. “Nah, I’m kidding, he’s crazy,” Sununu was quoted as saying by Politico. “The press often asks me if I think Donald Trump is crazy. And I will say it like that, I do not think he is so crazy that you could put him in a psychiatric hospital. “But I think if it was in one, it would not come out.” If Trump was the main target, several of his political allies also came under fire, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, whom Sununou mocked for appearing. “What about Ted?” Do you see this beard? ” he said. “Looks like Mel Gibson after DUI or something.” The founder of My Pillow, Mike Lindell, a Trump loyalist who rushed to support the former president’s big lie that his 2020 election defeat was rigged, was also a skewer. “This man’s head is full of more crap than his pillows. His things suck. I mean, it sucks. “You only find things like that at the Trump Hotel,” said Sununu. And Sununu advised Jen Psaki, the White House spokeswoman who was reportedly preparing to get a job at MSNBC, to look for her money in advance, in a turmoil on the network’s viewership numbers. Sununu was not the only speaker to shoot Trump. Joe Biden sent a video that was played to the audience apologizing for his absence. “I really wanted to be with you tonight, but the truth is, I could not find a seven-hour, 37-minute break in my schedule,” Biden said, referring to the amount of time missing from Trump’s White House communications.
