Reynolds’ body was found in the Woodburn Reservoir on the outskirts of Carrickfergus earlier this week and three people were arrested on suspicion of murder. In a tweet released at 10.32pm on Wednesday night, the PSNI said: “Our detectives investigating the murder of Roy Reynolds have been given an extension to detain three people.”
“Major detectives of the investigation team investigating the murder 54 [year] The old man Roy Reynolds in the early hours of Monday 28 March was given an extension of the detention of two men, a 68-year-old and a 32-year-old and a 48-year-old woman, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, until midnight on 31/22/3. “ Mr Reynold’s body was found on the outskirts of Carrickfergo in the early hours of Monday. The discovery sparked searches of two homes in the Newtownabbey area on Tuesday afternoon. Read more related articles Chief Inspector Ray Phelan said: “Shortly before 6 a.m. Monday, local officers received a report of suspicious activity in the Rathcoole Derrycoole Way area of Newtownabbey. “Officers who responded then located and stopped a silver Toyota C-HR shortly before 7 a.m. in the Clonmore Green area and arrested the two male occupants.” The PSNI later announced that a 48-year-old woman had also been arrested.
