Entire building blocks in the center of Mariupol have been demolished – a level of disaster not previously seen in the besieged city of Ukraine – new satellite images from Maxar Technologies show. With communications inside and outside Mariupol non-existent, the images are the first visual update in recent days that does not come from Russian propaganda. The images confirm all the satellite sensing data NASA has collected: dozens of explosions have occurred in and around Mariupol. A dramatic theater in ruins after bombing. Its roof has holes from military strikes. The mayor of Mariupol estimated that up to 160,000 people remain in the city until Monday.
