With the Russian offensive now in its second month, Moscow no longer has full control of Ukraine’s Donbas region, which runs along the border with Russia. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Saturday that the country’s forces are fighting to occupy two villages around Donetsk, a large city held by Russian-backed separatists since 2014.
