Colonel Yuri Medvedev was allegedly cut by a Russian tank. He is believed to be in command of Russia’s 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is fighting on the outskirts of Kiev. The Western official said: “We believe he was defeated by his own troops.” Footage of the wounded Medvedev being evacuated by stretcher was announced by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov on March 11. It was not clear if the colonel survived his injuries. Kadyrov’s troops, which were filmed to transport Medvedev, played a key role in Russia’s campaign in Ukraine.
