Sean Penn supports Amy Sumer’s idea of Zelensky attending the Oscars – to the point of saying that if it does not happen … the show should be boycotted. The award-winning actor – who has two of his own statuettes – made the bold proposal on Saturday during an interview with CNN, which delves into the humanitarian work he and his crew are doing in Europe as they work to provide relief and assistance to fleeing Ukrainians. Towards the end of the conversation, presenter Jim Acosta asked the SP what he would like to see from the Oscars on Sunday – and the guy did not hold back his thoughts. Take a look … Sean is firmly behind the idea of Zelensky and / or other Ukrainian leaders appearing on the TV show, saying that there is nothing more important that Hollywood could do in an era like this. . He has said that some have argued that politics should stay out of such broadcasts, and while he says he can agree with it in some ways … he suggests that war goes beyond prestige. Sean also says he heard that the Oscar producers chose NOT to nominate Zelensky – something that Oscar co-presenter Sumer mentioned in a recent interview after apparently showing it – and goes on to say if this is the case. … he will be pissed. The press says that it encourages all those who are nominated for Oscars if Zelensky leaves the show, and even says that he would be willing to “smell” his own material as a sign of protest.
