Authorities recovered a white SUV from a reservoir in California on Sunday night – after a private diving team claimed to have found the body of missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni. Authorities have not confirmed that Rodni has been found. Officials will hold a news conference Monday to provide an update on the investigation. The SUV was pulled from the water near the camp where Rodni disappeared about two weeks ago. It is unclear if the vehicle – which was removed from Prosser Creek Reservoir – belonged to Rodni. Adventures with Purpose, a popular YouTube channel that helps with missing persons cases, claimed they found her car upside down in 14 feet of water with her in it. Rodni disappeared from a party at a campground in Truckee, California, in the early morning hours of August 6th. Authorities spent weeks searching wooded areas near the Prosser Family Campground in the Tahoe National Forest that locals call “The Campground,” where Rodni was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on August 6 at a party of about 300 people that started on the night of August 5. Officials began collecting and bagging evidence in the area of the campsite on August 11. Authorities believe she may have been kidnapped and are treating their investigation as a kidnapping. After her disappearance, Placer County officials activated the CodeRed Alert System, which sends alerts to Placer County’s population of about 100,000. Rodni’s vehicle, a silver Honda CRV that she drove to the party, also disappeared from the campsite on the morning of August 6.
