Sami Aydogan and Sefik Ekici, acting as police officers, handcuffed the couple who said they were “holding” in a horror attack where they later threw their bodies into a river, it is reported. Police have launched an investigation into Seyma Demir, 18, and her boyfriend Hasan Aydogan, 21, after their families reported their disappearance last week. During the search, a vehicle used by the couple was reportedly found abandoned in a forest area in the Agbayir area of the Turkish province of Kirsehir. Cell phones, coats and a bag containing Seyma’s personal belongings were found inside the vehicle. During a night search, Seyma’s lifeless body was found by the river and the two male bodyguards were arrested on suspicion. Aydogan and Ekici reportedly spotted Hasan and Seyma in a remote area where they were drinking and introduced themselves to the couple as police officers pointing their weapons. The suspects told the young couple that they were “detained” for an unknown reason, then handcuffed behind their backs, put in their car and taken to the Kizilirmak River, as alleged. The suspects, who continued to drink alcohol there, allegedly first raped the teenage girl and then shot her with a single bullet in the back of the neck and threw her into the Kizilirmak River. Authorities believe Aydogan, who allegedly confessed to raping and killing Demir, tried to destroy the evidence by having his car checked after the murder. Ekici, who has denied the allegations, is also said to be a nephew of Kirsehir Mayor Selahattin Ekicioglu. According to reports, the body of the young woman was found thanks to air bubbles trapped in her coat, which helped her body float on the river bank. Seyma was buried in the village of Akcaagil, in Kirsehir province, on March 28, following an autopsy in Ankara, while investigations into Hasan’s body continue. The police investigation continues.
