Can Arslan, 52, is on trial for the murder of Matthew Boorman, who was stabbed 27 times in the front lawn after returning home from work. The Bristol Crown Court ruled that Arslan did not dispute Burman, 43, but jurors at the trial said they had to decide whether his death was murder or manslaughter due to reduced liability. Arslan was fueled by “anger and revenge” against his villagers who had been trying to oust him for several years for his anti-social behavior, according to the trial. After repeated warnings to police and his victims – including informing a police officer of his murderous intentions the day before – Arslan carried out the attack on October 5, 2021. The whole incident in the village of Walton Cardiff near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, was recorded by CCTV cameras and some of the footage has now been released by the police after being presented to the jury in court. The video focuses on the aftermath of Arslan, who fatally injured Boorman, 43, and injured his wife Sarah Boorman by stabbing her in the leg as she tried to save her husband. Footage shows him walking barefoot on the corner of Peter Marsden’s house – another neighbor who was also involved in the legal process to evict him – and also attacking him.
