Budhmor has 15 residents and is run by the social welfare charity CrossReach. NHS Highland has been notified of the closure, which is expected by the end of June this year. The health council said it is working with CrossReach and families to find new homes for residents. He also said he hopes Budhmor staff will be able to continue their work in the local community. CrossReach said the closure decision followed “intensive efforts to map a way forward for Budhmor”. A spokeswoman said: “We are concerned that the current building no longer meets the required standards and does not contribute to providing the best possible quality of care. “We hoped to be able to rebuild the house, but given the financial situation, the remaining uncertainty about what is needed and the challenges with hiring, we are no longer able to do it.” He said the money raised by the community to help fund the construction of a new home will be reimbursed.
