The London Fire Department shared footage from the scene on Tachbrook Road showing firefighters battling hell out of the backyard of neighboring houses. It has been confirmed that the fire broke out in a “professional garage”, with adjacent storage space, many cars and a container of oil have also been extinguished. Initially, eight fire engines were dispatched to the scene this afternoon (Tuesday, April 5), but have now risen to 10. A total of 70 firefighters are now battling to contain the blaze and people have been warned to avoid the area. The 999 Brigade control room received more than 40 calls referring to the fire, with the first coming at 11.45am. Station commander Graeme Hunter, who is on the scene, said: “The fire is producing heavy smoke, which is visible for miles. We are urging locals to close their windows and doors.” Fire crews from Southall, Hayes, Feltham and Heathrow are among those on the spot. The causes of the fire are not known at this time.
