Thursday marks Seguin’s last day as CBC Ottawa Sports Presenter, the end of a long career in local sports that began when he was hired by CJOH (now CTV Ottawa) in 1981, a young man from Ryerson University. She moved to CBC in 1990 and has been here ever since raising four children. Séguin covered the 1990 NHL expansion matches that saw Ottawa receive a franchise, the Gray Cup victory for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016, and the Ottawa 67 National Championships in 1984 and 1999. He also traveled to Sochi to cover the 2014 Olympics. His time with the CBC included a transition to turning his own stories in the late 1990s and filling in as a news anchor.

Dan is the best and he deserves it! He was super patient with me in the early ’90s, cutting his sports rollers. enjoy @SeguinSports – @ camnandlall
Our gym was across from the CBC building, and Dan interviewed me when he needed content for high school sports coverage. When I entered the media a few years later he welcomed me and supported me a lot. All the best in this next chapter @SeguinSports – @ lisawallace29
