Spotify is working on a new podcast tracking page
The popular music streaming service now appears to be testing a new tab in the app, dedicated to helping you discover new podcast shows for you to enjoy. The new tab displays various podcasts on a carousel that seems inspired by the popular TikTok video sharing app. You can go through the suggested shows on the carousel. Currently, the app places podcasts on its homepage, which series suggest new episodes or shows that you may find interesting or enjoyable. The new update that Spotify is testing will bring a whole new visual experience to the discovery of the podcast on a new tab. So far, several users have noticed that a new Podcast tab has been added to their bottom line in the app. Clicking on it leads to an experience similar to TikTok, which plays an episode of a randomly selected podcast. Scanning up gives you access to another random episode of a random show that the app thinks you might like. Okay, but this seems to be part of a test and not really a widespread update, as not everyone has gotten the new graphics yet. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. A Spotify spokesman said the app is regularly testing new features, but has no more news at the moment (via TheVerge). Another interesting aspect of this new discovery tab is that it seems to include automatic subtitles for the episodes it displays. As we have already mentioned, Spotify seems to be working hard to enrich the user experience with podcasts on its platform and if the feature we discuss above ends up being official, it will emphasize that the company is really trying to grow in this direction as well. . As some of you may know, in 2019, Spotify acquired Anchor (podcast service) and then also acquired Podz in 2021, which is a service that focuses on discovering podcasts through machine learning.
Other Spotify features in the tests that may excite you
Spotify has been experimenting with a lot of interesting new features lately, and while not all of them will be finalized, some of them will definitely be. One of the most recent new test features we mentioned is a new Car Mode for people who want to use Spotify while driving. The new Car Mode is also in its testing phase and comes after Spotify was abandoned by Car View, a similar feature for drivers. This is what brings bigger buttons that are easier to press while you are busy looking at the street and overall, the interface of the popular music streaming application is simpler. However, it has more options than Car View had, as Car View was quite simplistic. Killing Car View was actually for Spotify users to take a look at the company recently released Car Thing accessory. Spotify now urges some users to “try out” the new feature when connecting their phones to their car. One of the best features of Car Mode is that you can easily browse and search for different music to play in your car, something the old version, Car View, did not have.
